What are Dream Children?

Dream children are magical entities that are created in the Limbus from wishes, dreams and mourning of humans (or trolls).

It could be that a young mother loses her unborn child during the first months of pregnancy, and from her grief a Dream Child comes into existence. Or maybe, a single old man wishes desperately for a family, and his dreams evoke a whole bunch of Dream Children, all shaped like the many daughters and sons that he will never have. Sometimes, a newborn child that doesn't survive the first few hours and doesn't get baptized before death can also be claimed by the Limbus and become a Dream Child.

Dream Children can grow older, but their growth lasts many years, sometimes centuries, and they never look older than a human child of seven years, as long as they stay within the Limbus. Sometimes, as they grow and learn - and yes, they can communicate with people outside the Limbus, mostly with their "Dream Parents" (those whose thoughts created them) - they can achieve certain abilities and special kinds of magic, and develop their own character traits and quirks.
