Sorrow, Avatar of Death.


"...Aeons ago, Death itself was wandering upon the earth, faceless and dark, and where it tread, weeds withered and beasts breathed out their last breath.

Noone welcomed Death, and deep sorrow grew in its cold heart, for loneliness was its only fate.

But once on its travels, it became a witness of something strange; it saw an altar made of bones amidst a living forest, and in front of it, on his knees, a young man of the Faeria folk, singing his solemn prayers to the One Who Ends Everything, worshipping Death for its ability to take away the existing, so it can make room for something new.

And Death felt how the sorrow fled from its heart, and fell deeply in love with the young man. It caught the sorrow and shaped it into a mirror image of the Faeria man, and Sorrow became an Avatar - not yet god, but not a mortal neither.

From that moment on, Sorrow followed the young Faeria shaman, giving him wondrous abilities like killing with a word or raising the dead as an army of his own, or even giving back life to those who lost it.

Death never interfered with these deeds, even if sometimes the shaman broke the rules Death itself imposed, for it remembered very well how it was to feel love, and could continue its journey with joy in its heart."



Sorrow is a Soom Amber boy (on an Arkose body right now). I decided that he better suited to wear the death dragon outfit than Ullrich was, Ullrich now has modern human clothing and is human only, so Sorrow also got to have the fantasy body.
